The Luxury League, conceptualised by designer Ritu Beri, aims to bring the Government and purveyors of luxury on a common platform. 'Luxury' isn't a bad word. On the contrary, it has powerful potential to be leveraged as an agent of change for India's arts and crafts segment.

The Luxury League commenced with an endorsement from Rashtrapati Bhavan, by Hon'ble President, Shri Pranab Mukherjee, who met delegates on April 6, 2017.

After the enormous success of the Global Design and Innovation Forum, a part of the Make in India Week in Mumbai, the Luxury League collaborated with Taj Hotels Palaces Resorts & Safaris to create a trailblazing forum - the Luxury Symposium 2017. This pledges to promote India as a global producer of luxury on April 7, 2017 at Taj Palace Hotel, New Delhi. It served as a platform to reimagine the connotations of luxury in an Indian context in conversation with thought leaders and in conjunction.

The event was well attended by prominent global personalities & officials who are involved in the initiative of Branding Indian Luxury globally, Sh. Ramesh Abhishek – Secretary DIPP, Sh. Amitabh Kant – CEO Niti Aayog, Sh. Kalraj Mishra – Hon’ble Minister of MSME, Sh. Pavan Varma, Rajiv Makhni to name a few.

The event was supported by Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, Ministry of Textiles, Khadi India, Ministry of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises, Indian Council for Cultural Relations & Amazon. NDTV was the media partner, Yes Bank was the Banking Partner & Digiqom, the Digital Partner for the event.

The Hon'ble Commerce Minister of India, Smt Nirmala Sitharaman inaugurated The Luxury Symposium 2017. In her opening speech, she acknowledged how the global luxury segment can facilitate and support Indian artisans' growth. Mr. Amitabh Kant followed up saying India's digital strength will ensure exponential growth of India's luxury brands. Seven back-to-back sessions were packed with meaningful dialogue on how to bring together the Government and producers, promoters and communicators of luxury.

Luxury League founder, Ritu Beri says, "My desire is to strengthen the voice of India abroad & to open the Indian doors to the world by showcasing our artistic talent through creative interactions and dynamic networking. The idea is Branding Indian Luxury globally & creating an increased pool of knowledge and competence.

Under the encompassing spectrum of ‘Luxury’s Newest Frontiers’, we had gathered a very distinguished panel who over the course of the day fostered an open and ongoing exchange of ideas. The event was very well attended by global luminaries, decision makers, public intellectuals, pioneers of business excellence & key members of the Indian parliament and bureaucracy.
